Quotes and enquiries
- Quote requests via our website form or phone are free unless we state otherwise in writing (for example, a paid survey on a complex commercial site).
- Quotes are based on information you provide — postcode, approximate length, photos, access and ground conditions. If site conditions differ materially from what was described, we may revise the quote before work proceeds.
- A written quote remains valid for the period stated on it. If no period is stated, assume 30 days unless material prices change significantly.
- No fencing work is booked until you accept a written quote in the manner we specify (email confirmation, signed acceptance, or agreed deposit where applicable).
Scope of work
Each quote describes the agreed scope — materials, line length, panel height, post type, gravel boards, gate specification, removal of old fencing if included, and estimated duration. Work outside the quoted scope requires a separate agreement.
Planning and boundary compliance: property owners are responsible for fence height limits, permitted development, party wall or boundary disputes, and obtaining any required consents. We note typical guidance in quotes but do not provide legal advice.
Site access and customer responsibilities
- You must provide safe access to the boundary for personnel, materials and waste removal.
- Underground services (cables, pipes) must be identified before digging. We are not liable for damage to unmarked services you have not disclosed.
- Pets and children must be kept clear of the work area during installation or repair.
Payment
Payment terms are stated on your written quote. Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due as specified on completion of the quoted scope or according to any staged schedule for larger projects. Late payment may incur reasonable recovery costs permitted by law.
Cancellation and rescheduling
If you need to cancel or reschedule after accepting a quote, contact us as soon as possible. If materials have been ordered or a slot reserved, reasonable costs already incurred may be chargeable — this will be explained at the time.
Weather and delays
Heavy rain, frozen ground or other conditions that would compromise concrete footings or safe working may require rescheduling. We will agree a new date without unnecessary delay.
Materials and workmanship
We install pressure-treated timber, composite, mesh, palisade and other systems as specified in your quote, using industry-standard fixing and post-setting practice. Natural variation in timber colour and grain is normal.
Any warranty or guarantee period applicable to materials or workmanship will be stated in your quote or completion documentation.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
Subject to the above, our liability for loss or damage arising from fencing work is limited to the price paid for the relevant scope of work, except where a higher limit is required by law or expressly agreed in writing.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (for example loss of profit) except where such exclusion is not permitted.
Complaints
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, contact us promptly at info@fencingcompanystafford.co.uk or 01785 596196 so we can investigate.
